Junior Housekeeper needed for residence in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The junior Housekeeper will work alongside a Lead Housekeeper to help ensure that the home is running smoothly and is kept in pristine condition. Schedule is 5 day and 40 hours/week and the family prefers the schedule to be one of the following: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm/9am-5pm or Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4pm/9am-5pm.
Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Handle thorough daily housekeeping and periodic deep cleaning in the residence.
- Knowledge of care and cleaning techniques for antiques, crystal, chine, silver, brass, stone, marble, fabric/upholstery, artwork and other speciality surfaces
- Laundering and ironing of fine fabrics and clothing
- Organization projects
- Running occasional errands
The junior housekeeper must be a team player and be able to take direction well. Candidate must be able to work both independently as well as work well with others. The successful candidate is someone who is hard-working and highly organized.
Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience as a housekeeper in fine homes and be looking for a long-term position. The ideal candidate is discreet, respectful, a self-started and is flexible. Must be dog friendly as dog walking is part of the position. Salary is $17-19/hour and includes paid vacation, holidays and sick days.
