Full-Time Houseman – Glen Ellyn, IL

Full-Time Houseman needed for private residence with family of six in Glen Ellyn. Schedule will be Wednesday-Friday from 10am-8pm and Saturday + Sunday from 10am-6pm; occasional flexibility needed for Houseman to arrive early/stay late for special events. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • daily maintenance projects
  • holiday decorating
  • laundry/ironing 
  • tidying- i.e.: making beds, straightening, vacuuming, etc. 
  • errands such as grocery shopping
  • light meal prep such as grilling/BBQ-ing

Full-Time House Manager- Chicago, IL

This position is managing a 10,000+ square foot private residence located in Chicago, Illinois.  It is a highly confidential and private environment and this person will make sure the home runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.  The individual should be smart, energetic, a proactive problem-solver, adept at setting priorities, possess strong organizational skills and represent the client in the most professional manner at all times. Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

1.     Assume full responsibility for the residence and maintain its orderly operation and meticulous appearance daily.
2.     Maintain all systems in the household, including heating and cooling systems and security systems.  Schedule preventative maintenance.
3.     Update and revise the House Manual as needed.
4.     Schedule and supervise outside contractors, service providers and suppliers.  Perform small household repairs/maintenance projects that do not require a contractor. 
5.     Handle all household shopping, inventory and errands.  Anticipate and obtain any needed items or services.
6.     Plan and execute events in coordination with the internal team.
7.     Organize all areas of the household and identify areas of improvement.
8.     Ensure the highest level of discretion is upheld and that the residence is treated with the utmost respect and care at all times.
9.     On occasion, prepare simple food/meals.
10.  Tend to all guests and family’s needs.

·      Flexibility – Position is full-time, generally Monday – Friday.  Flexibility will be required for occasional evening and weekend events.  

Experience/Education:

·      A minimum of 5 years of experience as a House Manager in a private residence
·      Some college coursework or 4-year degree a plus
·      Prior experience working in a highly confidential environment
·      Excellent verifiable references from prior experience in a similar position
·      History of being able to work independently and on a team
·      Track record of good judgment and decision making
·      Ability to juggle multiple projects/events at a time
Computer Skills:

·      Fully proficient in Microsoft Office suite
·      Proficient with smart home systems and safety practices
