Private client in Highland Park, IL seeking a part-time houseman to join his team, acting as an assistant to his estate manager. Houseman will be responsible for assisting with outdoor maintenance of the entire property, as well as indoor projects by request. Duties include watering plants, caring for outdoor fountain, maintaining yard between landscaper visits, taking out the trash/recycling, automotive maintenance, pet care, running errands, occasional driving, and general assistance with moving heavy items/etc for the estate manager.
Tentative schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-6, with occasional weekend availability a plus. Days of the week are flexible for the right person. Ideal candidate has 3+ years experience as a houseman/butler, good knowledge of landscaping/garden maintenance, is able to commit for the long-term (minimum of 1 year), has worked in a formal household, is pet-friendly (dog and cat) and speaks VERY good English.
