Flight Attendant Needed for Private Aircraft- Chicago, IL

Flight Attendant needed full-time for private aircraft. This position serves to support a private family based in Chicago, working with the management company that oversees the aircraft to ensure the passengers’ safety, comfort, and service are attended to at all times. No previous experience in aviation required but is preferred.  Family is open to candidates who have experience working in the private service industry (i.e. Estate/House Managers, Personal/Executive Assistants, etc.) and who are used to the flexibility required in private travel. Family will arrange for all necessary training of Flight Attendant. Ideal candidate is able to start within 2-3 weeks.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Brief passengers on the features of the aircraft cabin
• Assist and command the cabin in the event of an aircraft emergency, medical emergency or aircraft evacuation
• Operate all emergency equipment including fire extinguishers, life rafts, oxygen equipment and automatic external defibrillator
• Document all cabin maintenance issues with Pilot in Command
• Operate and assist passengers with aircraft convenience systems such as entertainment, high speed data systems, fax machine and phone capabilities
• Assist passengers with carry-on luggage
• Assist passengers with seating for adults and children including passengers with disabilities and children who require restraint systems
• Plan, order, prepare and serve all meals and beverages; superior culinary skills
• Develop standard stock and source vendors for aircraft cabin, lavatory and galley. Insure aircraft is prepared to specifications prior to each flight
• Insure aircraft cabin is clean and aircraft water and lavatories are serviced prior to each flight
• Conduct preflight check of all cabin safety equipment prior to each flight
• Assist with hotel and transportation arrangements for crew
• Attend annual recurrent safety and medical training

Experience/Education Required:

• College degree preferred; high school diploma required
• 3+ years’ Corporate aviation experience preferred but not required
• Executive level service skills from hospitality or food service business
• Knowledge of food, wine, cultures and culinary skills required
• Aviation safety training required
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• An unwavering team and service oriented demeanor
• Willingness and ability to take direction, open to growth
• Able to adjust to changing schedules and circumstances quickly, gracefully and efficiently
• This position is based in Chicago, Illinois must live with three hours of Chicagoland area
• Must be 21 or older and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must also be able to pass a required 10-year background check
