Amazing opportunity for a career nanny who is ready to move! A private and busy family is looking for a full time live in career nanny to join their family. This position is live in, and requires flexibility and extensive traveling (at least one trip per month). The candidate must be legal to work in the United States, have a valid passport and drivers license, and at least 4+ years of private household nanny experience with verifiable references. The nanny must also be able to swim, be pet friendly (dog), and be CPR and First Aid certified. Their daughter is 6 months old, so nanny must be comfortable working with infants, and be looking for a long term position. Family currently lives in Washington DC, but will be moving to Palo Alto, CA within a year. Nanny must be willing to live in both cities and relocate with family.
The daily duties will include but not be limited to:
Overall care for the child first and foremost (bathing, dressing, feeding, play time, etc.)
Cooking for the child and preferably for the family a few nights per week
Traveling at least once per month either domestically or internationally
Light housekeeping such as laundry, kitchen clean up, and child's room clean up
Driving to activities
Occasional errands
This position would be great for someone who loves to travel, is very active and energetic, has a strong knowledge of child development and can offer creative suggestions as needed, and who is looking for their next long term position. The candidate must be tech-savvy and be comfortable using smart phones and doing internet research to act as an in house resource for family. The ideal candidate is smart, can be calm under pressure, extremely knowledgeable about childcare, pro-active, communicates well, and loving.
Rough schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-8pm & half days on Sunday afternoons/evenings. Overall the nanny must be flexible and willing to help whenever needed. Start date is early September 2012, but interviewing will begin ASAP. Candidates from all over the United States may apply as family is open to relocating if needed. Family will be moving to California within the next 6 months so someone who is familiar with that area and open to relocating is needed. Salary is $1000-$1200/week NET (after taxes), DOE.
