Private family on the North
Shore is seeking to hire an experienced Estate
Manager to oversee two properties (main residence in Chicago and vacation
property roughly 1.5 hours away) and a staff of five for a full-time position.
All applicants must have a minimum of 7-10 years experience in similar
role within a private home, have managed a minimum of two properties, and be
willing to travel between residences at any given time. Ideal candidate is a
proactive self-starter who is looking for a long-term commitment with a
wonderful family, currently based in the Chicago area, and able to work a
flexible schedule whenever necessary. Estate Manager should exhibit outstanding
interpersonal, managerial, and organizational skills, and be comfortable
working autonomously or in tandem with the staff on various projects and during
events.
Applicants should also possess working experience of or detailed
knowledge in the following:

Property
construction, renovations, and vendor management

Hiring,
training, and overseeing staff
·
Establishing and
maintaining household manual and employee handbook
·
Fine art and
furnishings
·
Planning and
executing events and various social functions
·
Complex Smart
Home systems
·
Ensuring family
and property’s security
·
Most technology
platforms and software (ie: Mac/PC, Microsoft Office, Smartphones, etc.)
Estate Manager will be based at the Family Office, but travel between
both properties on a weekly/biweekly basis to ensure standards have been
established and are being upheld. EM will also be responsible for acting as a
liaison between staff and Principals, and corresponding with the Family Office.
Family is seeking a candidate who has sound judgment, anticipates needs, and is
assertive but maintains integrity and composure at all times. All candidates
must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and be willing to
undergo an extensive background check. Confidentiality is of the utmost
importance and all interviewees will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure
Agreement.
Start date is as soon as possible and compensation is commensurate with experience.
